Two things you need to know about discipleship...1. Jesus' disciples made disciplesand2. JESUS' DISCIPLES MADE DISCIPLES!So now that's been established, what is keeping you from joining our discipleship ministry? If you feel you need to be discipled first, please contact Rachel Murphy or Shad Wickstrom and they will pair you with someone. You may also ask someone to disciple you, if the Lord has put them on your heart. If you are ready to disciple someone, please attend one of our training sessions so we may have a unified vision of what that looks like biblically. Also we have resources that may help. Rachel and Shad are also the contacts to sign up for these sessions. If you are currently discipling someone, please check out these links to see if they may help fulfill your purposes.

Ancient Path FamilyWe had a wonderful prayer and fasting time in September, really hearing God's call to seek Him as a unified church body. Here are a few things we asked you to pray for and their current status…Blessing and direction as we launch our one-on-one discipleship (Confirmation in the hearts of many that God would have us focus on this next step. We have since launched our JOY FIGHT CLUB and have trained 20 people to begin dicipling.)Spiritual growth for all who attend Ancient Path (Confirmation that the best way to accomplish this is through continued Life-Group invovlement and the added focus of 1-on-1 discipleship.)Opportunities to reach those who need God (God is unfolding a new vision called "One Hope" that we are still developing. It will involve such things as prayer and fasting for the lost, and joining with other believers from like-minded churches in Windsor to walk through and pray for our neighborhoods.)If God would have us move into a building. (At this point we know that any building we might move into requires at least $80,000 in renovation costs. This would need to be on-hand as we begin. We are still praying about this endeavor, but are leaning towards trying to raise the money. Keep praying.)Volunteers to step forward and use their gifts (There has been an interest for people to disciple and be discipled, as well as continue praying and fasting. We also had about 5 people step forward to meet current needs in various minstries.)If God would have us add more full-time workers (No revelation on this. Keep praying.)Wisdom for our leaders (It is very important to note...if you prayed and fasted and didn't know what God was revealing for our church body, please know your prayers were heard, and God chose to whom He would reveal. One thing was clear, God revealed what He wanted. It was simple and unifying.)How can we continue to minister to the underground church and orphans abroad? (We feel compelled to continue our efforts in Thailand/Vietnam by supporting Dr. J's ministry)Well, that's the update for now. In addition to these corporate revelations of God's will for our church, many, many people shared receiving convicting revelations from the Holy Spirit. God was very active this month in "being found" as we sought Him, and He dealt with many hearts first and foremost!

Again...think picnic.Note: We are planning to have our usual breakfast fare at all the outdoor services. And starts times will still be 10am.

Getting Plugged InJesus Christ is the cornerstone of the church. All who believe that He died and rose again are the additional building blocks. If you are looking to be involved in this community, we would first ask you to consider a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is it required to be a part of this community? Absolutely Not! We pray that the Ancient Path is a place you can explore the Bible, Jesus and God’s plan for you and me. After an open, honest exploration, we pray that you will come to know Jesus and grow in your relationship with Him. If this raises your curiosity, please see the “How Do I Become a Christian” insert in this packet or visit with one of the pastors.Additionally, there are a number of ways to connect and be active in TAP. First, there are
Life Groups that meet in homes on a weekly basis to study God’s word, pray and live life together. Second, there are ministry teams where you can use your gifts and talents to serve the people of TAP and Windsor. Third, there are missionary efforts that you can support through prayer, finances or even your time and assistance in the effort. You are not here by accident! We pray that you would walk this journey with us and make the Ancient Path your church home.
Statement of FaithABOUT GOD -God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has forever existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal in every respect and perform distinct functions in relation to mankind. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14)ABOUT MANKIND - All are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the most treasured possession of God’s creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for good, we are tainted by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This separates us from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2)ABOUT ETERNITY - We were all created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by our sin or together with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is called Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal life together with God.(John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15 (Hell); Matthew 25:41; Revelation 21:27 (Heaven))ABOUT JESUS CHRIST - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again to earth to reign over everything and everyone. (Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14, 15)ABOUT SALVATION - Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement, by our own efforts or by good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Salvation from eternity in hell apart from God begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1)ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY - Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in the salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the individual. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security. (John 10:29; II Timothy1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; I Peter 1:3-5)ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT - The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christ-Follower from the moment of salvation. He provides Christ-Followers with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. Christ-Followers seek to live under His control on a daily basis.(II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; John 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12; I Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25)ABOUT THE BIBLE - The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. It was written by human hand under the direct, supernatural, guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christ-Follower’s beliefs and for living. It is without error in the original manuscripts. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

Shad began his journey with Jesus at a young age and is now the Lead Pastor at Ancient Path. He met his wife, Julie at age 13, married her by 19, and is now a father of four children, Caleb, Faith, Hope and the newest addition, Josiah.Shad pursued grant writing and law before following in his father’s footsteps of becoming a pastor. Since planting Ancient Path, he and Julie feel amazingly blessed to be part of people's lives in Windsor, CO. Shad enjoys the brilliant humor in the movie “Napoleon Dynamite,” a good conversation over a cup of coffee, beach volleyball, madly chasing his children through the house, and playing guitar.
Why We Are HereThe Ancient Path exists to LOVE GOD, SERVE PEOPLE and POPULATE HEAVEN.We dream of becoming a multigenerational community of faith that is reaching young families and training them to become intentional influencers in their social environments.God has a unique fingerprint for the Ancient Path. We pray that throughout our first ten years, we will:1. Lead the charge in making it hard for people in Windsor to go to an eternity separated from God in Hell.2. Win the opportunity to share the message of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection with thousands in our region.3. Intentionally work and pray for hundreds of those people to come to faith in Jesus.4. Be a church that worships passionately and is known for dynamic spiritual power. We want to LOVE GOD.5. Be a church that encourages the artist in our church to tell the story of God’s faithfulness through their gifts of writing and singing original music, visual media and drama.6. Be a church that is known for its servant-heartedness in this community. We want to SERVE PEOPLE.7. Be a church where people from all walks of life can belong before they believe, giving freedom to explore the Christian faith. 8. Be a church where people can discover their purpose in life and grow to spiritual maturity through Bible study, small groups, retreats and higher learning opportunities (Biblical Institute).9. Establish a physical community presence (a building) where people can come and experience God’s work in their lives on a daily basis.10. Partner with other churches in planting 10 churches in the next 10 years, including at least one in Croatia.11. Send out hundreds of short-term and long-term missionaries to all parts of the world.
History of the Ancient PathThoughts of Ancient Path began way back in the last century...1997. Shad Wickstrom came from a lineage of pastors, and began his journey with Jesus at a young age. While attending Dallas Theological Seminary, he began to get a vision for church planting. After serving in two area churches in Northern Colorado, God made that vision a reality. In February of 2002, with the support of Converge Rocky Mountain (then known as the RMBC) and several area churches, the Windsor Project was birthed. Over the next 19 months God provided a deeply committed and prayerful launch team, significant financial resources, two additional staff members and a name, “Church on the Ancient Path.” The name comes from a verse found in Jeremiah 6:16; “This is what the Lord says: Stand at the crossroads and look;ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is,and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”During these initial months, the launch team met regularly to pray for God’s direction and provision in this young church. They met in people’s homes, area coffee shops and a local bar as God began to reveal His plan. Finally on September 14, 2003, Church on the Ancient Path officially opened its doors. Over 150 people came to celebrate this initial public worship service, held at Skyview Elementary School. In the short history of Church on the Ancient Path, we have witnessed God do some amazing things. Most significantly of all, we have witnessed the unchanging power of the message of Jesus Christ. We have witnessed many people commit their lives to Jesus Christ and 50 + people publicly profess their faith through baptism. This is the reason God gave the gift of His church to all of humanity.God is the author and perfector of this continuing story. It is by no means done. As His story unfolds at Church on the Ancient Path, we pray that God would make you a part of it. Will you join us?
Jeremiah 6:16 "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls..."
